Exploratory Evidence on the Factors that Relate to Elementary School Science Learning Gains Among Multilingual Learners
Multilingual learners (MLs) make up nearly one in five students in US public schools today. MLs’ performance in science is important for their academic development and for advancing science outcomes more broadly. This interactive website highlights recent research from the University of Florida with support of the National Science Foundation that informs science learning for MLs in elementary school.
Our aim is to expand Multilingual Learners’(MLs) engagement in STEM by examining the influence of various factors, both individually and collectively, on ML student science achievement in elementary school settings. This endeavor lays the groundwork for developing approaches and policies that promote MLs’ elementary science education.
